Following the global political and military crisis of 2001, I wrote a series of interpretative essays on our damaged historical condition. In these essays—Violencia y civilización (2006), La Era de Palomares y Filosofía; Filosofía y tiempo final (2010), Proceso a la civilización (2011), El Universo dividido (2015), and Una edad de destrucción (2016), I presented a number of contemporary dilemmas: the meaning of violence, the nuclear threat, ecological destruction, the corporate production of spectacle, the degradation of culture, and the end of the intellectual. The collage of different genres in La existencia sitiada (2006) and Crisis y crítica (2019) are the most recent works in this series. These prosecutions of civilization culminate in an essay/project that is philosophical, academic and activist, written by E. S., Ch. Britt and P. Fenn, Enlightenment in an Age of Destruction (2018).
